CALIXAR utilizes a unique & a custom-built strategy 

CALIXAR’s CALXCHOL is a very gentle detergent used to stabilize native membrane proteins. CALXCHOL is non-ionic and therefore is not sensitive to ionic strength or pH changes is well adapted to stabilize many different specific membrane proteins.

CALXCHOL can help generate lipid detergent mixed micelles and protein detergent micelles. CALXCHOL also enables the stabilization of native and functional membrane proteins within a solution. CALXCHOL can also be employed as a protein chaperone to insert membrane proteins into liposomes.

CALXCHOL is provided in powder form and is used in an aqueous solution or buffer and can also be mixed within biological materials (biological membranes).


CALIXar’s CALXCHOL is non-ionic and therefore is not sensitive to ionic concentration or pH fluctuations and is able to stabilize precise membrane proteins. Due to the fluorinated chain, CALXCHOL does not solubilize lipid membranes.
