Spotlight on AffinityImmuno Anti-Idiotype Antibodies

Our partners AffinityImmuno Inc have come out with a range of Anti-Idiotype antibodies – these are highly specific chicken polyclonal antibodies to ONLY the idiotype region of the following drugs:

ANTIBODIES THAT BIND IDIOTYPE OF:

Adalimumab......................................................................ab-94-011

Bevacizumab.....................................................................ab-94-021

Rituximab...........................................................................ab-94-181

Trastuzumab......................................................................ab-94-201

Tocilizumab.........................................................................ab-94-202

and more to come!

Applications include pharmacokinetics studies, blocking, and immunogenicity studies.

WHY USE CHICKEN ANTIBODIES?

Since 2015 AffinityImmuno Inc has been refining their technique to produce and purify chicken antibodies for applications in human research. Chickens are one the most productive and humane ways to produce high-affinity antibodies.

» Higher affinity: Most mammalian proteins exhibit enhanced immunogenicity in chickens due to phylogenetic distance, and thus raise antibodies of higher affinity against mammalian proteins.

» Increased specificity: IgY does not bind to mammalian Fc receptors, complement proteins, or protein A/G making IgY superior for assay development.

» Higher yield: Chickens lay eggs regularly (6 per week), thus, can produce 20 times as much antibody as a rabbit in the same time period.

» Most humane: Chicken antibodies are isolated from eggs. No need for invasive bleeds for testing or terminal bleeds for production.

IgY EXCELS FOR BIOANALYTICAL TESTING

The figure below demonstrates the specificity of AffinityImmuno’s anti-idiotype antibody binding to Rituximab vs the isotype control (IgG1). Binding is strong to Rituximab with low background signal for binding to IgG1.

Comparison of a well known anti-Rituximab idiotype monoclonal antibody (Clone 10C5) to AffinityImmuno’s chicken anti-idiotype antibody as capture reagents in ELISA using IDENTICAL coating conditions, standard series, and detection reagents shows the chicken antibody gives higher sensitivity.
