Background: AP2 gamma is a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein that interacts with inducible viral and cellular enhancer elements to regulate transcription of selected genes. AP-2 factors bind to the consensus sequence 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3' and activate genes involved in a large spectrum of important biological functions including proper eye, face, body wall, limbs and neural tube development. They also suppress a number of genes including MCAM/MUC18, C/EBP alpha and MYC.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analyzes of AP-2γ (A436) pAb in paraffin-embedded human kidney carcinoma tissue at 1:50,showing cytoplasm and nucleus staining. Negative control (the right) Using PBS instead of primary antibody,Secondary antibody is Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG-biotin followed by avidin-peroxidase.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 45 kDa
Specificity: AP-2γ (A436) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of AP-2γ protein.
