MARCKS (phospho-Ser159/163) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Sizes: 50μL, 100μL

Catalogue Numbers: ES15034-50, ES15034-100

Lead times: 1-2 weeks, if manufacturer has product in stock

Manufacturer/Ship Location: China

Background: The protein encoded by this gene is a substrate for protein kinase C. It is localized to the plasma membrane and is an actin filament crosslinking protein. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C or binding to calcium-calmodulin inhibits its association with actin and with the plasma membrane, leading to its presence in the cytoplasm. The protein is thought to be involved in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking and mitogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008],

Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat

Host: Rabbit

Applications: WB

Alternate Names: Myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate (MARCKS) (Protein kinase C substrate, 80 kDa protein, light chain) (80K-L protein) (PKCSL)

Clonality: Polyclonal

Immunogen: Synthesized phosho peptide around human MARCKS (Ser159 and 163)

Isotype: IgG

Target: MARCKS

Specificity: This antibody detects endogenous levels of Human Mouse Rat MARCKS (phospho-Ser159 or 163)

Dilution: WB 1:1000-2000

Purification: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit serum by affinity-chromatography using specific immunogen.

Concentration: 1 mg/ml,

Formlation: Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide.

Expression: Blood, Brain, Epithelium, Muscle, Skin,

Observed Band (KD): 32kD

Fields: Fc gamma R-mediated phagocytosis, MicroRNAs in cancer

Function: Function: MARCKS is the most prominent cellular substrate for protein kinase C. This protein binds calmodulin, actin, and synapsin. MARCKS is a filamentous (F) actin cross-linking protein
PTM: Phosphorylation by PKC displaces MARCKS from the membrane. It also inhibits the F-actin cross-linking activity
Similarity: Belongs to the MARCKS family

Subcellular Location: Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton Membrane, Lipid-anchor

Storage and Stability: -20°C/1 year

Gene Name: MARCKS MACS PRKCSL

Protein Name: MARCKS (Ser159/163)

Mouse Gene ID: 17118

Mouse SwissProt Number: P26645

Rat SwissProt Number: P30009
