Background: The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the conversion of tyrosine to dopamine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, hence plays a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene. Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of extracts of PC-12 cells, using Phospho-Tyrosine Hydroxylase-S40 pAb at 1:1000 dilution or Tyrosine Hydroxylase antibody. PC-12 cells were treated by Forskolin at 37℃ for 30 minutes.
