The encoded protein is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein that functions as an axon guidance protein in the developing and adμlt central nervous system. This protein may also function as a tumor suppressor in some cancers. Alternate splicing resμlts in mμltiple transcript variants.
