Background: FOXB2 is a gene on chromosome 9q21. that encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins, forkhead box protein B2, which is thought to act as a transcription factor. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding and RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding. An important paralog of this gene is FOXE3.
