Background: Aconitase 2 (ACO2) catalyzes the conversion of citrate to isocitrate via cis-aconitate in the second step of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. ACO2 is also an important regulator of iron homeostasis within cells. In addition, research studies have shown that this enzyme is deficient in the mitochondrial disease Friedreich's Ataxia.
Purification and Purity: This antibody is purified through a protein G column.
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Aconitase 2 protein.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Aconitase 2 expression in human heart (A) whole cell lysates.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 85kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Name: Aconitate hydratase, mitochondrial; Aconitase; Citrate hydro-lyase
Immunogen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of human Aconitase 2. The exact sequence is proprietary.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Unmodified
