Background: This gene encodes a B9 domain protein, which are exclusively found in ciliated organisms. The gene is upregμlated during mucociliary differentiation, and the encoded protein localizes to basal bodies and cilia. Disrupting expression of this gene resμlts in ciliogenesis defects.
