Background: Thiol protease involved in osteoclastic bone resorption and may participate partially in the disorder of bone remodeling. Displays potent endoprotease activity against fibrinogen at acid pH. May play an important role in extracellular matrix degradation. Involved in the release of thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) by limited proteolysis of TG/thyroglobulin in the thyroid follicle lumen.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Cathepsin K protein.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Cathepsin K expression in U2OS (A), mouse testis (B), rat testis (C) whole cell lysates.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 25 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Name: CTSO; CTSO2; Cathepsin K; Cathepsin O; Cathepsin O2; Cathepsin X
Immunogen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of human Cathepsin K. The exact sequence is proprietary.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Unmodified
