Background: CD133 antigen also known as prominin-1 is a glycoprotein that in humans is encoded by the PROM1 gene. It is a member of pentaspan transmembrane glycoproteins (5-transmembrane, 5-TM), which specifically localize to cellular protrusions. While the precise function of CD133 remains unknown, it has been proposed to act as an organizer of cell membrane topology.
Purification and Purity: Peptide affinity purified
Storage and Stability: Store at +4°C after thawing. Aliquot store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Specificity: CD133 monoclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of CD133 protein.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: Predicted band size 97 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: ICC staining CD133 (green) in LOVO cells. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS., ICC staining CD133 (green) in N2A cells. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).
