Product: Mouse IgG2b. Liquid in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.2% BSA and 0.01% sodium azide.

Swiss-Prot: P06731

Host: Mouse

Reactivity: Human

Applications: IHC

All Applications: IHC (1/100 - 1/300)

Background: Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), also known as CD66e or CEACAM5, is a 180-200 kDa cell surface glycoprotein whose expression is elevated in intestinal carcinomas and other tumors. CEA mediates cell adhesion, though little more is known about its biological activity. Expression of CEA is correlated with tumerogenicity, and it has been shown to play a role in cell migration, adhesion and invasion in culture cells, as well as in metastasis in vivo.

Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of CD66e protein.

Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 76 kDa

Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.

Extra Notes: Immunohistochemical analysis of CD66e staining in human tonsil formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX., Immunohistochemical analysis of CD66e staining in human colon carcinoma formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section.
