Background: MHC class II (MHC-II) proteins play critical roles in cellular immune responses and their expression is mainly regulated by the non-DNA binding transcription factor CIITA (MHC class II transactivator) . CIITA expression is upregulated by IFN-γ and it in turn enchances MHC-II expression and represses collagen expression . CIITA has a limited number of transcriptional targets, most of which are involved in MHC-mediated antigen presentation . Mutations in the CIITA are associated with the hereditary immunodeficiency disease Bare Lymphocyte Syndrome (BLS) which is characterized by a nearly complete absence of MHC-II expression (also referred to as MHC-II deficiency).
Purification and Purity: The antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of CIITA protein.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of CIITA expression in Beas2B (A), Jurkat (B) whole cell lysates.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 120 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Name: MHC2TA; MHC class II transactivator; CIITA
Immunogen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the center region of human CIITA. The exact sequence is proprietary.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Unmodified
