Background: Keratins (cytokeratins) are intermediate filament proteins that are mainly expressed in epithelial cells. Keratin heterodimers composed of an acidic keratin (or type I keratin, keratins 9 to 23) and a basic keratin (or type II keratin, keratins 1 to 8) assemble to form filaments . Keratin isoforms demonstrate tissue- and differentiation-specific profiles that make them useful as research biomarkers. Research studies have shown that mutations in keratin genes are associated with skin disorders, liver and pancreatic diseases, and inflammatory intestinal diseases.
Product: Liquid in 50mM Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 0.15M NaCl, 50% Glycerol, 0.01% Sodium azide and 0.05% BSA.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Cytokeratin 10 protein.
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Cytokeratin 10 expression in rat skin (A), mouse skin (B), CHOK1 (C) whole cell lysates., Immunohistochemical analysis of Cytokeratin 10 staining in human tonsil formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.115). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
