Background: May function as a chaperone that inhibits aggregation of misfolded proteins.Negatively regulates the unfolded protein response (UPR) through binding to UPR sensors such as ERN1, which in turn inactivates ERN1 signaling.May also regulate the UPR via the EIF2AK3 UPR sensor.Plays a role in platelet aggregation and activation by agonists such as convulxin, collagen and thrombin.

Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of ERp5 protein.

Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of ERp5 expression in SW480 (A), HepG2 (B), mouse lung (C), mouse testis (D), rat liver (E) whole cell lysates., Immunofluorescent analysis of ERp5 staining in U2OS cells. Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a hidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a DyLight 594-conjugated secondary antibody (red) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.
