Background: Core component of nucleosome. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling.
Purification and Purity: Peptide affinity purified.
Storage and Stability: Store at +4°C after thawing. Aliquot store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Specificity: Histone H3.1 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Histone H3.1 protein.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: 15.4 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Histone H3.1 on F9 cell lysate using anti-Histone H3.1 antibody at 1/1,000 dilution., ICC staining Histone H3.1 in Hela cells (green). The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS.
