Background: Binds to the dendritic targeting element and may play a role in mRNA trafficking (By similarity). Part of a ternary complex that binds to the downstream control sequence (DCS) of the pre-mRNA. Mediates exon inclusion in transcripts that are subject to tissue-specific alternative splicing. May interact with single-stranded DNA from the far-upstream element (FUSE). May activate gene expression. Also involved in degradation of inherently unstable mRNAs that contain AU-rich elements (AREs) in their 3'-UTR, possibly by recruiting degradation machinery to ARE-containing mRNAs.
Purification and Purity: ProA affinity purified
Storage and Stability: Store at +4°C after thawing. Aliquot store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Specificity: KHSRP polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of KHSRP protein.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: 73 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of KHSRP on different lysates using anti-KHSRP antibody at 1/1,000 dilution.
Positive control:
Lane 1: 293
Lane 2: mouse brain
Lane 3: rat brain, ICC staining KHSRP in 293T cells (green). The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed in paraformaldehyde, permeabilised with 0.25% Triton X100/PBS.
