All Applications: WB (1/500 - 1/1000)

Background: Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology.

Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 191% (by SDS-PAGE).

Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of MRPL9 protein.

Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of MRPL9 expression in PC3 (A), THP1 (B), MCF7 (C) whole cell lysates.

Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 30 kDa

Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.

Alternative Name: 39S ribosomal protein L9 mitochondrial; L9mt; MRP-L9

Immunogen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence within the C-term region of human MRPL9. The exact sequence is proprietary.

Conjugate: Unconjugated

Modification: Unmodified
