Mu Opioid Receptor(MOR) Polyclonal Antibody Sizes: 50µl, 100µl Catalogue Numbers: BS77011-50, BS77011-100 Product: 1mg/ml in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.2 Swiss-Prot: P35372 Host: Rabbit Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat Applications: WB, IHC, IF/ICC All Applications: WB,1:500 - 1:2000 | IHC,1:50 - 1:200 | IF/ICC,1:50 - 1:200 Background: This gene encodes one of at least three opioid receptors in humans; the mu opioid receptor (MOR). The MOR is the principal target of endogenous opioid peptides and opioid analgesic agents such as beta-endorphin and enkephalins. The MOR also has an important role in dependence to other drugs of abuse, such as nicotine, cocaine, and alcohol via its modulation of the dopamine system. The NM_001008503.2:c.118A>G allele has been associated with opioid and alcohol addiction and variations in pain sensitivity but evidence for it having a causal role is conflicting. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Though the canonical MOR belongs to the superfamily of 7-transmembrane-spanning G-protein-coupled receptors some isoforms of this gene have only 6 transmembrane domains. Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE). Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. Specificity: Unmodification Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure. Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using Mu Opioid Receptor antibody at 1:1000 dilution. Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates/proteins: 25ug per Lane. Blocking buffer: 3% non-fat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 1s., Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded rat brain using Mu Opioid Receptor Rabbit pAb at dilution of 1:100. Perform microwave antigen retrieval with 10 mM Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol., Immunofluorescence analysis of mouse brain using Mu Opioid Receptor Rabbit pAb at dilution of 1:100.
