Background: Myf5 is a member of the myogenic basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors. These activate the muscle differentiation program. Myf5 also induces fibroblasts to differentiate into myoblasts. It is a probable sequence specific DNA-binding protein.

Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: Myf-5 (A88) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Myf-5 protein.
