Background: Tetrodotoxin-resistant channel that mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a sodium-selective channel through which sodium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Plays a role in neuropathic pain mechanisms.
Purification and Purity: ProA affinity purified
Storage and Stability: Store at +4°C after thawing. Aliquot store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Specificity: NaV1.8 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of NaV1.8 protein.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: 220 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of NaV1.8 on rat spinal cord lysate using anti-NaV1.8 antibody at 1/100 dilution., Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse brain tissue using anti-NaV1.8 antibody. Counter stained with hematoxylin.
