PURB Monoclonal Antibody Catalogue Numbers: MB67177-50, MB67177-100 Sizes: 50µl, 100µl Product: Mouse IgG1 kappa. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.3, 30% glycerol, and 0.01% sodium azide. Swiss-Prot: Q96QR8 Host: Mouse Reactivity: Human, Mouse Applications: WB All Applications: WB (1/500 - 1/4000) Background: Purβ (purine-rich element-binding protein B), also known as transcriptional activator protein Purβ, is a 312 amino acid protein that belongs to the PUR DNA-binding protein family. The Purβ gene product is a sequence-specific, single-stranded DNA-binding protein. It binds preferentially to the single strand of the purine-rich element termed PUR, which is present at origins of replication and in gene flanking regions in a variety of eukaryotes from yeasts through humans. Thus, the Purβ protein is implicated in the control of both DNA replication and transcription. Deletion of the Purβ gene has been associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), which is a malignant disease where in hematopoietic precursors are arrested in an early stage of development. Localizing to nucleus, the Purβ protein is expressed in myocardium of heart failure patients. The Purβ gene is conserved in mouse, rat, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, C. elegans, A. thaliana and rice. and maps to human chromosome 7p13. Purification and Purity: This antibody is purified through a protein G column. Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of PURB protein. Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of PURB expression in Jurkat (A), HeLa (B), NCIH460 (C), HepG2 (D), MCF7 (E), NIH3T3 (F) whole cell lysates. Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 40 kDa Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure. Alternative Name: Transcriptional activator protein Pur-beta; Purine-rich element-binding protein B Immunogen: Recombinant fusion protein of human PURB. The exact sequence is proprietary. Conjugate: Unconjugated Modification: Unmodified
