Background: Catalyzes the phosphorylation of the dietary vitamin B6 vitamers pyridoxal (PL), pyridoxine (PN) and pyridoxamine (PM) to form pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP), pyridoxine 5'-phosphate (PNP) and pyridoxamine 5'-phosphate (PMP), respectively (Probable). PLP is the active form of vitamin B6, and acts as a cofactor for over 140 different enzymatic reactions.

Product: Mouse IgG1 kappa. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.3, 30% glycerol, and 0.01% sodium azide.

Purification and Purity: This antibody is purified through a protein G column.

Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Pyridoxal Kinase protein.

Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.

Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Pyridoxal Kinase expression in 293 (A), MCF7 (B), U251 MG (C), human liver (D) whole cell lysates., Immunohistochemical analysis of Pyridoxal Kinase staining in human testis formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
