The biological effects of EPO are mediated by the specific erythropoietin receptor (EPOR/EPO Receptor) on bone marrow erythroblasts, which transmits signals important for both proliferation and differentiation along the erythroid lineage. Immobilized CD131 at 10 μg/ml (100 μl/well) can bind biotinylated recombinant human EPOR with a linear range of 0.16-4 μg/ml. 2. Measured by its ability to inhibit Epo­dependent proliferation of TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1-4 ng/ml in the presence of 0.1 U/mL Recombinant Human EPO.
