Abbreviation: PTCH1
Target Synonym: Protein patched homolog 1; PTCH1; PTC; PTC1
UNIProt ID: Q13635
Research Areas: Cancer; Cell Biology; Neuroscience; Stem Cells
Target Species: Human
Expression Host: E.coli
Fusion Tag: N-His
Accession: Q13635
Background: Acts as a receptor for sonic hedgehog (SHH), indian hedgehog (IHH) and desert hedgehog (DHH). Associates with the smoothened protein (SMO) to transduce the hedgehog's proteins signal. Seems to have a tumor suppressor function, as inactivation of this protein is probably a necessary, if not sufficient step for tumorigenesis.
Sequence: Glu 122-Asp 436
Purity: > 95 % as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Please refer to the specific buffer information in the printed manual.
