Description: Recombinant Mouse Low-density lipoprotein receptor/LDLR Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ala22-Arg790) of mouse LDLR/LDL Receptor (Accession #NP_034830.2) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.

Background: The low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family consists of cell surface proteins involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands. Low density lipoprotein (LDL) is normally bound at the cell membrane and taken into the cell ending up in lysosomes where the protein is degraded and the cholesterol is made available for repression of microsomal enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase, the rate-limiting step in cholesterol synthesis. At the same time, a reciprocal stimulation of cholesterol ester synthesis takes place. Mutations in LDLR gene lead to the autosomal dominant disorder, familial hypercholesterolemia.
Bio-Activity: Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse LDLR(Catalog: RP01504) at 5 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Mouse PCSK9(Catalog: RP01200) with a linear range of 4.88-271.36 ng/mL.
