Description: Recombinant Rat Cystatin-C/CST3 Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Gly 21-Ala140) of rat Cystatin-C/CST3 (Accession #NP_036969.1) fused with and a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Alternate Names: CYSC; Cystatin-C; CST3
SWISS: P14841
GeneID: 25307
Species: Rat
Purity: ≥ 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20 ℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: Cystatin C, also known as Cystatin-3 (CST3) is a secreted type 2 cysteine protease inhibitor synthesized in all nucleated cells, has been proposed as a replacement for serum creatinine for the assessment of renal function, particularly to detect small reductions in glomerular filtration rate.
Bio-Activity: Measured by its ability to inhibit papain cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate Z-FR-AMC (Catalog # ES009). The IC50 value is <3.4 nM, under the described conditions.
