Description: Recombinant Recombinant Rat IL-18 Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (His37-Ser194) of Rat IL-18 (Accession #NP_062038.1) fused with a His tag at the C-terminus.
Alternate Names: Il18, Igif, Interleukin-18, IL-18, Interferon gamma-inducing factor, IFN-gamma-inducing factor, Interleukin-1 gamma, IL-1 gamma
SWISS: P97636-1
GeneID: 29197
Species: Rat
Purity: ≥ 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: IL-18 ,Pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily involved in epithelial barrier repair, polarized T-helper 1 (Th1) cell and natural killer (NK) cell immune responses. Upon binding to IL18R1 and IL18RAP, forms a signaling ternary complex which activates NF-kappa-B, triggering synthesis of inflammatory mediators. Synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Involved in transduction of inflammation downstream of pyroptosis: its mature form is specifically released in the extracellular milieu by passing through the gasdermin-D (GSDMD) pore.
