Background: This gene encodes a fusion protein that contains an N-terminal histone-lysine N-methyltransferase domain and a C-terminal mariner transposase domain. The encoded protein binds DNA and functions in DNA repair activities including non-homologous end joining and double strand break repair. The SET domain portion of this protein specifically methylates histone H3 lysines 4 and 36. This gene exists as a fusion gene only in anthropoid primates, other organisms lack mariner transposase domain. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Polyclonal Antibodies
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human colon carcinoma using SETMAR Rabbit pAb at dilution of 1:100. Perform high pressure antigen retrieval with 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6. 0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol., Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded rat spleen using SETMAR Rabbit pAb at dilution of 1:100. Perform high pressure antigen retrieval with 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6. 0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
