Background: Serine protease inhibitor, probably important for the anti-inflammatory and/or antimicrobial protection of mucous epithelia. Inhibits KLK5, it's major target, in a pH-dependent manner. Inhibits KLK7, KLK14 CASP14, and trypsin.
