Background: Tensin is involved in the maintenance of cellular structure by anchoring Actin filaments at the focal adhesion via F-Actin binding and capping activities. However, tensin also contains a Src homology 2 (SH2) domain and has the ability to be phosphorylated. Tensin is phosphorylated on tyrosine, serine, and threonine residues, suggesting that it might participate in signal transduction cascades. These diverse characteristics in a single molecule indicate that tensin may be an important link between the cytoskeleton and signal transduction pathways.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 152, 230 kDa
Specificity: p-Tensin-1 (Y483) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Tensin-2 protein when phosphorylated at Tyr483.
