Background: Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. ZNF232, also known as Zinc finger and SCAN domain-containing protein 11, is a 417 amino acid protein belonging to the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Localized to the nucleus, ZNF232 contains one SCAN box domain and five C2H2-type zinc fingers. Due to the presence of these domains, ZNF232 may be involved in transcriptional regulation. Ubiquitously expressed, ZNF232 is present at high levels in testis, liver and ovary. ZNF232 exists as two isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
