Description: Recombinant Human Calcitonin/CALCA Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ala26-Asn141) of human Calcitonin/CALCA (Accession #NP_001029124.1) fused with and a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Alternate Names: CT; KC; PCT; CGRP; CALC1; CGRP1; CGRP-I; CGRP-alpha; CALCA
SWISS: P01258-1
GeneID: 796
Species: Human
Purity: ≥ 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20 ℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: This protein is a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor (NTKR) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. The presence of this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in specifying sensory neuron subtypes. Mutations in this gene have been associated with congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation and cancer. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been found, but only three have been characterized to date.
