Description: Recombinant Human GDNFR-alpha-2/GFRA2 Protein is produced by HEK293 expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ser22-Ser441) of human GFRA2/GFRα2/GDNFRB (Accession #NP_001486.4) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Alternate Names: GFRA2, GDNFRB, NRTNR-ALPHA, NTNRA, RETL2, TRNR2
SWISS: O00451
GeneID: 2675
Species: Human
Purity: ≥ 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN) are two structurally related, potent neurotrophic factors that play key roles in the control of neuron survival and differentiation. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the GDNF receptor family. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPI)-linked cell surface receptor for both GDNF and NTN, and mediates activation of the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. This encoded protein acts preferentially as a receptor for NTN compared to its other family member, GDNF family receptor alpha 1. This gene is a candidate gene for RET-associated diseases.
Bio-Activity: Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized recombinant Human Neurturin at 5 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind recombinant Human GFRA2, the EC50 of Human GFRA2 is 1.82 μg/mL.
