Description: Recombinant Human IFN-alpha 6 Protein is produced by Human cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ser21-Glu189) of human IFNA6/IFN-alpha 6/LeIF K (Accession #P05013) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.
Alternate Names: IFNA6, IFN-alphaK
SWISS: P05013
GeneID: 3443
Species: Human
Purity: ≥ 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: Interferon α-6 (IFN-α6) is a secreted protein which belongs to the α/β interferon family. IFN-α6 is produced bymacrophages, expressed at low level, only 1.0% of the average gene in this release. IFN-α6 contains interferonalpha, beta and delta domain. IFN- α has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of twoenzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
Bio-Activity: Measured in a cell cytotoxicity assay using TF-1 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.12‑0.48 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of 2.50×10^6 ~8.33×10^6 units/mg.
