Description: Recombinant Human Oncostatin-M/OSM Protein is produced by E. coli expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Ala26-Arg221) of human Oncostatin-M/OSM (Accession #NP_065391.1).
Alternate Names: OSM, oncostatin-M
SWISS: P13725
GeneID: 5008
Species: Human
Purity: ≥ 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Storage: Store at -20 ℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.
Background: This protein is a member of the leukemia inhibitory factor/oncostatin-M (LIF/OSM) family. The preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature protein. This protein is a secreted cytokine and growth regulator that inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. This protein also regulates the production of other cytokines, including interleukin 6, granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor in endothelial cells.
Bio-Activity: Measured in a cell proliferation assay using TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.8-3.2 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of 3.12×10^5 -1.25×10^6 units/mg.
