Description: Recombinant Human Periostin/PN/POSTN Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Asn22-Gln836) of human Periostin/PN/POSTN (Accession #NP_006466.2) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.

Alternate Names: PN; OSF2; OSF-2; PDLPOSTN; POSTN

SWISS: Q15063

GeneID: 10631

Species: Human

Purity: ≥ 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Storage: Store at -20 ℃. Store the lyophilized protein at -20℃ to -80 ℃ up to 1 year from the date of receipt. After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20℃ for 3 months, at 2-8℃ for up to 1 week.

Background: Periostin ( POSTN ), also known as OSF2 (osteoblast specific factor 2), is a heterofunctional secreted extracellular matrix (ECM) protein comprised of four fasciclin domains that promotes cellular adhesion and movement, as well as collagen fibrillogenesis.Postn is frequently overexpressed in various types of human cancers, stimulating metastatic growth by promoting cancer cell survival, invasion and angiogenesis, and can be a useful marker to predict the behavior of cancer.

Bio-Activity: Measured by its ability to induce adhesion of ATDC5 mouse chondrogenic cells. Immobilized Recombinant Human Periostin/OSF‑2 at 10 µg/mL (100 µL/well) induces >19% cell adhesion.
