Description: Recombinant Mouse Asparaginyl endopeptidase/Legumain/LGMN Protein is produced by HEK293 cells expression system. The target protein is expressed with sequence (Val18-Tyr435) of mouse Asparaginyl endopeptidase/Legumain (Accession #NP_035305.1) fused with a 6×His tag at the C-terminus.

Background: The Mammalian Legumain, also known as LGMN, also called asparaginyl endopeptidase (AEP), is a cysteine protease belonging to peptidase family C13 with strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. Has a strict specificity for hydrolysis of asparaginyl bonds. Can also cleave aspartyl bonds slowly, especially under acidic conditions. May be involved in the processing of proteins for MHC class II antigen presentation in the lysosomal/endosomal system. Required for normal lysosomal protein degradation in renal proximal tubules. Required for normal degradation of internalized EGFR. Plays a role in the regulation of cell proliferation via its role in EGFR degradation.
Bio-Activity: Measured by its ability to cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate, N-carbobenzyloxy-Ala-Ala-Asn-7-amido-4-methyl coumarin(Z-AAN-AMC). The specific activity is > 107 pmol/min/μg.
