Legionella pneumophila is a Gram-negative bacterium of the genus Legionella. L. pneumophila is the primary human pathogenic bacterium in this group and is the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease, also known as legionellosis.
For the manufacturing of the native Legionella pneumophila pool antigen (pool of Legionella pneumophila serovars 1A, 1B, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) Legionella pneumophila is cultivated on solid medium, washed and heat treated.
The antigen BA106VS is suitable for the detection of IgM and IgG antibodies against Legionella pneumophila.
