The Respiratory Syncytial Virus is a syncytial virus that can cause lower respiratory tract infections during childhood.
For the production of the native antigen, the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (strain Long) is cultivated in Vero cells and the virus is extracted by alkaline treatment and sonication. The suspension is partly purified by centrifugation. The resulting antigen preparation consists of virus and viral components.
The antigen BA113VS is suitable for the detection of IgG, IgM and IgA against RSV.
