Background: Caspase-1, also known as IL-1 beta -converting enzyme (ICE), is an aspartic protease that plays a key role in the inflammatory response and apoptosis. Caspase-1 precursor (about 50kDa) can be cleaved and the active enzyme consists of a complex of two 20 kDa (aa 120-297) and two 10 kDa (aa 317-404) subunits which associate following cleavage of inactive precursors. Caspase-1 is required for proteolytic cleavage of the IL-1 beta precursor to form the active proinflammatory cytokine. Alternate splicing generates several additional Caspase-1 isoforms with deletions in the propeptide regions or also in the mature subunits.
Sequence: Asn 120-Asp 296
Purity: > 95 % as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Formulation: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Please refer to the specific buffer information in the printed manual.
Reconstitution: Please refer to the printed manual for detailed information.
Endotoxin: Please contact us for more information.
Calculated MW: 19.36 kDa
Observed MW: 21 kDa
Storage: Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80℃. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8℃ for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20℃ for 3 months.
Shipping: This product is provided as lyophilized powder which is shipped with ice packs.
