Background: Defects in the Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) gene cause Agammaglobulinemia. Agammaglobulinemia is an X-linked immunodeficiency characterized by failure to produce mature B lymphocyte cells and associated with a failure of Ig heavy chain rearrangement.
