Background: Ubiquitin-protein hydrolase involved both in the processing of ubiquitin precursors and of ubiquitinated proteins. This enzyme is a thiol protease that recognizes and hydrolyzes a peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin. Also binds to free monoubiquitin and may prevent its degradation in lysosomes. The homodimer may have ATP-independent ubiquitin ligase activity.
Product: Mouse IgG1. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.3, 30% glycerol, and 0.01% sodium azide.
Purification and Purity: This antibody is purified through a protein G column.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of PGP9.5 protein.
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of PGP9.5 expression in 293T (A), NCIH1299 (B), PC12 (C) whole cell lysates., Immunohistochemical analysis of PGP9.5 staining in human astroglioma formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
