Background: RanBP9 (RanBPM) is a Ran binding protein ubiquitously expressed and highly conserved in different organisms. It is a scaffolding protein that was identified as an interacting protein of MET inducing Ras- Erk activation. Several domains and motifs regulate the nuclear and cytoplasmic localization of RanBP9. Research studies indicate that RanBP9 might contribute to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). In addition to elevated expression levels in AD samples, this may involve interaction of RanBP9 with APP and BACE1 promoting endocytosis of APP and increased BACE1 mediated cleavage of APP to generate β-amyloid peptides.
Product: Mouse IgG1 kappa. Liquid in PBS, pH 7.3, 30% glycerol, and 0.01% sodium azide.
Purification and Purity: This antibody is purified through a protein G column.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of RANBP9 protein.
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of RANBP9 expression in Hela (A), U2OS (B), Jurkat (C), CCRFCEM (D), MDAMB231 (E), MOLT4 (F) whole cell lysates., Immunohistochemical analysis of RANBP9 staining in human heart formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
