Background: Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase is an iron containing glycoprotein that catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate. TRAP is the most basic of the acid phosphatases and is the only form not inhibited by L+-tartrate. TRAP is a relatively minor lysosomal enzyme which may be activated in certain pathologies such as Hodgkin’s disease and B- and T-cell leukemias. Receptor activator of NFκB ligand (RANKL) plays an essential role in osteoclast differentiation and activation by increasing the expression of protease osteoclast markers such as TRAP. TRAP has collagenolytic activity and plays a major role in ligament degradation.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of ACP5 protein.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 36 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Immunohistochemical analysis of ACP5 staining in human gaint cell tumor formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX., Immunohistochemical analysis of ACP5 staining in human lung formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section.
