Background: Regulatory subunit of lactose synthase, changes the substrate specificity of galactosyltransferase in the mammary gland making glucose a good acceptor substrate for this enzyme. This enables LS to synthesize lactose, the major carbohydrate component of milk. In other tissues, galactosyltransferase transfers galactose onto the N-acetylglucosamine of the oligosaccharide chains in glycoproteins.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Alpha-lactalbumin protein.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Alpha-lactalbumin expression in Milk (A) whole cell lysates.
Bioworld Molecular Weight: ~ 16 kDa
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Alternative Name: LYZL7; Alpha-lactalbumin; Lactose synthase B protein; Lysozyme-like protein 7
Immunogen: KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide encompassing a sequence of human Alpha-lactalbumin. The exact sequence is proprietary.
Conjugate: Unconjugated
Modification: Unmodified
