Background: Androgen receptor (AR), a zinc finger transcription factor belonging to the nuclear receptor superfamily, is activated by phosphorylation and dimerization upon ligand binding . This promotes nuclear localization and binding of AR to androgen response elements in androgen target genes. Research studies have shown that AR plays a crucial role in several stages of male development and the progression of prostate cancer.
Product: Liquid in 0.42% Potassium phosphate, 0.87% Sodium chloride, pH 7.3, 30% glycerol, and 0.01% sodium azide.
Purification and Purity: The antibody was purified by immunogen affinity chromatography.
Specificity: Recognizes endogenous levels of Androgen Receptor protein.
Note: For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
Extra Notes: Western blot analysis of Androgen Receptor expression in A549 (A), H1792 (B) whole cell lysates., Immunohistochemical analysis of Androgen Receptor staining in human prostate cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
